Usui
Reiki is named for Mikao Usui, the founder of the Usui System
of Natural Healing, known as Usui Shiki Ryoho in Japanese, meaning the Usui System of Natural Healing. This is the "official" name of what we call Reiki in the
West. This system is the first healing system that is the
foundation of all the other branches of Reiki that have been
developed from it over the past 25 years.
RCGW teaches in the "traditional Western "
style, called Usui Shiki Ryoho, supplemented with the Eastern style, Usui Reiki Ryoho. Our classes have four attunements for Level One, two attunements
for Level Two, and one attunement for Level Three. Attunements connect the student to the energy, sort of like tuning a radio to a particular station. We allow
additional time for practice in all of our classes, so that
you leave them knowing how to use what you have learned. We
also encourage our students to come to our Reiki Shares, Practice Groups and
Student Clinics, and to return as class assistants to show
them what it is like to develop and teach a Reiki course, or session interns, to give them professional practical experience once they
have completed their Master training in at least two modalities.

It is traditional for the third or Master level to be the final step in your Usui Reiki training, allowing you to teach, as well as heal. In recent years, students who wanted to deepen their healing experience without learning how to teach have approached RCGW with a request for a course that would assist them in developing their healing abilities.
As a result, RCGW now offers two options in its Usui Reiki III training which are listed below:
OPTION 1 is called Usui Reiki IIIA "Becoming the Energy to Heal" TM. The student will receive a certificate as an Usui Reiki Master Practitioner for this option.
OPTION 2 combines this class with our usual teacher's class and is called Usui Reiki IIIA-B "Becoming the Energy to Teach and Heal" TM. The student will receive a certificate as an Usui Reiki Master Teacher for this option.
The IIIA class will typically be held the first day of our IIIAB workshops. Students will have the option to take this day only OR to repeat it at another time and continue onto the teacher's class.
